Following the Leader (and other childrens games).....
Since we haven't posted a blog for a while, we thought it high time that we update everyone on our plans. So here it is....we are now in a state of complete confusion, wondering exactly where God wants us to be and what He wants us to do. Now isn't that encouraging?
A few weeks ago we met with a member of the mobilization team from the missions organization that we are working with. We weren't sure what to expect, but I guess we thought we were going to convince him to let us join their organization so we could go to Kenya. After several hours of discussing our family, ministry experience, goals etc. he turned to us and asked, "Are you set on Kenya?" After a long silence along with a few "uh"s and "I don't know"s he told us that they would be happy to have us in Kenya but could really use our gifts in other places. We told him that we were open to discussing it and praying about it. He asked us to consider Cyprus, England and Spain. These countries have strategic missions programs that utilize people like us to research prospective mission locations and create businesses that the missionaries can run to support their work. These businesses would also help support missionaries in other areas and in some countries a business is the only way into the country. We are really excited about this prospect. This kind of work is a natural fit for us but who knows....
We desire to serve our Lord and we will go where He sends us....where ever that may be. Our heart is to follow our Leader even when we can't see where we are going and the way seems disorienting and a little scary. I'm reminded off a game that we played as a child where one child would be blindfolded and spun in circles and was then sent on their way to find the other children. The only way to find them was to listen intently and reach out to see if you could touch them. This is our new plan.....we are going to listen intently to what He wants to say to us and reach out to see if we can touch Him and His will for us.
Please be praying for our family for clarity in direction and purpose and that He will begin to put the pieces in place for us to begin His work.
"If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. John 12:26
